Viola Ochoa Obituary

Viola Ochoa, 83, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 28, 2026, in Harlingen, TX. She was born on July 6, 1942, to Saragoza Lopez and Esperanza Guerra.

Viola was a woman of deep faith, kindness, and devotion to her family. She found great joy in attending church and living out her faith through love, service, and prayer. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

She had a passion for gardening and took pride in nurturing flowers and plants, finding beauty in God’s creation. Viola was also known for her exceptional cooking, filling her home with the comforting aromas of meals lovingly prepared for family and friends. She especially enjoyed baking pan de polvo, homemade cookies, and her beloved sweet tortillas, which became treasured treats for her grandchildren and a symbol of her love for her family.

Viola cherished the holiday seasons, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. She delighted in gathering loved ones around the table, preparing favorite family recipes, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Her home was a place of warmth, hospitality, and love, especially during these special celebrations.

Above all, Viola’s greatest joy was her family. She lovingly cared for those around her and created a home where everyone felt welcomed, valued, and deeply loved. Her legacy of faith, generosity, hard work, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family members, and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Noe Ochoa Jr (Katherine Lamar) Ochoa, Robert “Bobby” (Susan) Ochoa, Ricardo Ochoa, and Rolando "Roli" (Cristina) Ochoa, her daughters, Norma (Ismael Jr.) Tamez, Nancy (Jesse Jr.) Gonzalez, her sisters Dolores Garza, Maria Lupe (Armando) Gonzalez and Yolanda (Jesse) Perez, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
