Virginia V. Vasquez

Virginia V. Vasquez, 98, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in San Benito, TX. She was born on December 15, 1926, in Cuero, TX, to Florencio Valenzuela and Guadalupe Anzaldua.

She is survived by her sons and nephews, Alejandro (Lucy) Garza of Huachuca City, Az., Frank (Prisilla) Garza of New Bury, Ca., +Edward (Linda) Garcia of Brighton, Co., and Jose Baltazar (Linda) Flores of Raymondville, Tx., her stepchildren, Ismael Garcia of Arizona, Ernestina Siordia of San Antonio, Tx., Elydia Zuniga of Elsa, Tx., Minerva Lara-Hobbs of New Mexico, Virginia Barron, Victor T. Vasquez, Viola Vasquez, Josephine Martinez, Diana Chavez, all of Raymondville, Tx., Victoria Bedolla of San Antonio, Tx., Hilda Wall of Russellville, Ar., many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her late husband of 35 years, Jose Vasquez; her first husband, Agapito Garcia; and stepsons Alfredo Garcia and Joe T. Vasquez Jr.  

Words cannot express the gratitude Virginia’s family has to Alma Pimentel and the staff from Sam Houston Community Home in San Benito, Texas, along with the Hospice Medical Team, for the care and aid they showed Virginia.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Hector Rodriguez, Michael Bedoya, Robert Zamora, AJ Martinez, Raul Villareal, and Luis Cardenas.

Viewing will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to her final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.
